Bliss was created to assist in the transitional phase of motherhood by providing new and seasoned mothers a care package specifically designed for them. It is a kit that comes with herb infused, butters, oils, tea baths, yoni spray and lip balm. These are a few key items that are absolutely necessary in facilitating moms in their transition into motherhood – from hospital to home. The products help in the recovery phase of birth and also in the mental recovery. It is designed to give the mother an opportunity to unapologetically infuse her mind and body in bliss – at least until the baby starts crying.
Creating unique and gentle blends was second nature for me as I study herbs and create compounds frequently. The challenge was to then create a packaging and branding system that would appeal to my audience. Often times packaging for mothers is geared toward just the baby but I wanted this to be a special package just for the mothers. I needed a bold yet subtle color scheme and typeface to reflect a mature yet calm nature.
I chose a wooden box for the packaging container (in which I burned the brand mark into) for these same characteristics. The box was reminiscent of a jewelry box or family heirloom and gave an intimate quality. Overall, I wanted Bliss to be a gift to mothers as self-care is even more vital after the baby is born. A healthy and calm mind and body allows one’s cup to be filled to its brim and therefore able to give and nurture others from abundance rather than lack.
