My study life is an app that was originally created in 2010 by Jamie Clarke software engineer graduate who was frustrated with the disorganization of his personal life and school life. Clarke wanted to be able to access all of his tasks in one place with reminders and goals included so he created an online planner. The difficulty was that the desktop format wasn’t compatible with the app format and wasn’t as intuitive. The app was desired because the users were mainly students and teachers who were not checking their laptops for updates but their phones. After researching the app and looking at reviews I was able to pull out the major concerns.
There was a need for times to be inserted with tasks as well as fixing the glitches with syncing and reformatting the layout to fit the phone app version. Creating a user persona helped me focus in on my target audience. I then created some sketches as well as layouts and wireframes before creating the mockup of the app. I tend to really focus on layout, research and the flow of the interface. I want to make sure that I can visually place every piece before creating a mockup to get the app as final as I can with minimal revisions.
